George Wood
George Wood is from Oxford House, Manitoba (Bunibonibee Cree Nation), born and raised in the community. George has been employed as a Cree language teacher for the past 36 years at a local elementary school. He enjoys passing the language to the young. With his wife Melinda they raised 4 children, 3 sons and 1 daughter. Their daughter was tragically taken away from them on August 20, 2016. George has enjoyed being out on the land throughout his life, and continues to be out there as part of his healing.
